Jesse Leger is a filmmaker, editor, cinematographer, and visual storyteller whose work is rooted in observation: finding the human story inside a complicated subject and shaping it into something an audience can understand and feel. Over nearly two decades, he has worked across documentary filmmaking, public affairs, healthcare communications, B2B marketing, commercial production, live broadcast, public affairs and photography.
A U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Army veteran, Jesse learned the craft in environments where preparation matters, conditions change quickly, and the story still has to be told. That background continues to shape his approach: deliberate without being rigid, technically exacting without losing sight of the people in front of the lens.
Jesse currently serves as Deputy Public Affairs Officer and multimedia lead at Womack Army Medical Center. He remains a hands-on creator, taking projects from early story development through final delivery. Depending on the assignment, that can mean researching and developing the concept, writing, interviewing, directing, operating camera, editing, designing motion graphics, color grading, shaping sound, and managing the final technical details.
His experience includes military photojournalism, healthcare communications, legal technology marketing, documentary-style production, and commercial work. His camera experience includes RED, Panasonic, Sony, and Canon cinema systems, ENG cameras, DSLRs, and drones. But the equipment is never the point. The point is choosing the right visual and editorial decisions to make the story clear, credible, and memorable.
Jesse is especially drawn to interview-driven work and subjects that require translation: medicine, technology, public service, and the lived experiences behind them. His background in scripting, story development, and editorial structure helps him find the throughline before the camera rolls and protect it through the edit.
He also works with emerging AI tools for visual development and narrative experimentation, treating them as part of a broader creative toolkit. His foundation remains traditional: strong reporting, intentional images, thoughtful editing, and respect for the audience.
Jesse holds a Bachelor of Science in Digital Cinematography from Full Sail University. Whether he is working alone in the field, collaborating with a production team, or shaping a story in post, his aim is the same: to make work that feels honest, communicates clearly, and stays with the viewer after it ends.
